Sport comes from a long line of reputable hunting dogs, his grandfather T-Doc often was referred to as the “rice fields hunting machine!” While only a few, if any, from the last 3 generations of his pedigree were hunt test or field trial dogs, he is proving to be fully capable of mastering every challenge these tests offer. Professional Waterfowl Guide Richard (Vic) Vicknair has helped continue the best bloodline of yellow waterfowl retrievers in Southwest Louisiana.

Sports marking abilities are amazing! He always operates with hard-driving intensity, and is not easily distracted. Very intelligent, aggressive, and determined, Sport is everything anyone could want in a retriever. When not “on the job” or with his trainer, he is a socialized family pet who shares a home with 3 other dogs.

Anyone who has seen him run will agree that Sport loves what he does, and he can get it done whether in competition or retrieving ducks and geese everyday of hunting season with his owner/guide (Vic) and his hunting clients!

Whether he is at the line, duck blind or hiding in the grass on a levee in the rice fields with Vic, he is the man…………………
